Many people communicate with their audience in perspective; no matter your level of communication, if your audience does not understand you, you are not communicating. How do you carry your audience along? The best way to carry your audience along is to speak directly to their interests. They talk outside about what they are not interested in. Talk to them within the scope of their interest; this will make them focus on you and understand you better.

Another way to improve your communication skills is to restructure your message. You might have been following a particular way to communicate; you might choose to restructure by sending email, SMS, or a phone call. This might add another volume when they receive the message.

Bring them into it simply means “get them involved.” When you are communicating, don’t just do the whole thing, whether you are a coach, facilitator, or teacher. Ask your student or audience to be involved in what you are teaching them; let them take some practicals; by doing so, they will understand better and get the communication easily.
- Make eye contact.
Don't make the mistake of talking to people and not looking directly into their eyes. The best way to know if you are carrying people along is through their facial expression. You can deduce if they are worried or distracted through eye contact.
- demand for feedback.
Communication in an environment where there is no feedback will be communication boring. The best way to know if you are carrying on is to demand feedback. How do you do this? Regularly, you should either repeat some words after you or tell them to say something in their regular terms. Feedback shows if they are listening to you.

What annoys people in conversation is distraction. For you to get your conversation across to people, you should avoid any form of distraction, like phone calls or side conversations, which might jeopardize the flow of your message to you or the person you are talking to.
